i'm reading this book right now. its one of those that i would be really embarassed to be caught reading. but its really good and i'm already through half of it, although i guess thats not really saying much because its all written in verse [as opposed to prose]. kind of like a poem, but not really.
the content, however, it what i'm a little unsure about. this book is about drugs. meth, to be specific. and alcohol. its definitely not promoting them, and as i read this story about a girl and her new addiction, it makes me want to never ever do drugs ever. [i realize that was a third grade sentence.] i just feel kind of guilty reading it. but i feel like i'm mature enough to handle the content and i really apreciate the format that this author spent so long designing.
is pretty good, and (somewhat) enjoyable, although thats probably not the best word to use. i hope to finish it tomorrow, and maybe i'll have more to add about the book. and mybe i'll tell you which one it is...

Hey Shelby! I'm so glad you are writing a blog! Don't feel too guilty about the book. I can remember reading a book called, "Go Ask Alice" when I was in middle school or high school (I forget which) and it had the same type of themes. It's fascinating to read about other lifestyles and try to understand why and how someone fell into such a sad way of life. In their own way they are educational, I guess...
